BBQ Recipe: Spiced and Grilled Turkey for Thanksgiving Holiday

What comes in your mind when thinking about the Thanksgiving holiday? Definitely, it’s all about delicious food, family gathering, day off, and celebration of course. How can one miss the chance to enjoy traditional food especially on the Thanksgiving that is exclusively about eating food?  You can enjoy the dinner with turkey, stuffing food, cranberry sauce, mashed potato, gravy, pumpkin pie and even add many more items in your menu.

But if you are a beginner to set the dinner table for Thanksgiving, don’t worry about the preparation. We have a unique and appealing recipe for you that will definitely gratify your guest.

So, we are here to sharing the recipe of spiced and grilled turkey, one of the mandatory dish for the Thanksgiving dinner. Although, there is a number of traditional recipes to serve, yet we have something unique to make your holiday more special.

Warm water

1 quartz

Cold water

2 quartz

Chilli powder

1 cup

Crab boil in a bag

2 packages (3 ounces for each package)

Brown sugar

Garlic cloves

10 (peeled and halved)

2 (according to the size of turkey)


1 (10-12 pounds)

Paprika powder

3 tbsp

Garlic powder

2 tbsp

ground cumin

2 tbsp

Once, you collect all the ingredients, now it’s time to cook the meal. For this, here are some directing steps. Must follow these!

Steps 1

Firstly, you need to combine paprika, chilli powder, brown sugar, crab boil in a bag, half quantity of the onion, rosemary, garlic and thyme in suitable stockpot. Boil all ingredients for 5 minutes, stir it well, then flaming off the heat. After 5-6 minutes, remove the pot from the heat. Allow all ingredients to set for room temperature.

Step 2

Now, it’s time to prepare turkey. For this, set two roasting bags (one in another), place the turkey inside both bags with a pouring of brine. Carefully seal the bags by pressing with hands so that no air will remain in the bag. Now shallow roast the coated turkey in roasting pan. Then, refrigerate the turkey for 18-24 hours.

Step 3

After roasting, rinse the turkey and keep it dry perfectly. Now, fill the turkey cavity with remaining garlic and onion (set aside initially). Cover turkey with oil and drizzle the mixture of all spices over skin of turkey.

Step 4

Finally, it’s time to grill the meal! You need non stick grill mat, grill heater or the grill pan for grilling. Preheat the grill pan, place non stick grill mat in the grill pan. Pour the reserved brine into grill pan, place the roast turkey on top. Cover the grill pan and set medium fire and rest it for 1 hour.

Your spiced and grilled turkey is ready! You can serve it with Chili powder, garlic powder and ground cumin.
