How to Grill Salmon with Acid Juice

Salmon is undeniably delicious and is quite popular among people. Salmon is common considered as healthy  food with plentiful nutrition. It riches in omega-3 fatty acids which can reduce the risk of heart disease and protect brain health. It is high in protein, an excellent source of B vitamins and vitamin D. It is usually severed raw in sushi and sashimi, which is popular from Japan. However, this recipe is to introduce how to grill flaky salmon with lemon, lime and orange marinade, which is delicious tender and juicy. Follow my recipe to get a restaurant quality salmon. 

If you want an amazing smoky flavor, you can grill salmon on cedar planks. It is suggested to soak cedar planks for at least 1 hour before grilling. 

Severs: 4 people


6 oz salmon

¼ cup brown sugar

¼ cup lime juice

¼ cup lemon juice

¼ cup orange marmalade

½ cup orange juice

1 tbsp. water

1 tbsp. cornstarch

3 tbsp. soy sauce

2 garlic cloves


1.Mince the garlic cloves 

2.Mix the brown sugar, lime juice, lemon juice, orange marmalade, orange juice, and brown sugar in a medium sauce pan to make marinade. Stir evenly. 

3.Whisk cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Then stir slowly into the marinade. 

4.Preheat the grill over medium high heat, almost 350 °F. 

5.Bring the saucepan to the grill and boil. Remove from heat until the mixture become thicken.

6.Place a piece of butcher paper on a large plate. Transfer the salmon to the plate. Pour the marinade on the salmon completely. Wrap and leave to rest for about 30 minutes.

7.Add cedar planks on the charcoal grill. Use a long-handed tongs to transfer marinated salmon on the cedar plank. It is strongly suggested to place a piece of grill mat to prevent from sticking and juice escaping. It takes about 12-15 minutes for the surface of salmon becomes lightly seared. Whisk kosher salt and garlic cloves before flipping.

8.Flip with tongs and grill the other side as the above tips. 

9.Transfer the cooked salmon to a plate and sprinkle kosher marinade, and let the remind heat to season the salmon for 5 minutes, which is more delicious and juicy.

10.You can serve the flavored smoking salmon with tangy flavor.
